Design Frequently Asked Questions
After you've contacted us and we've talked about some of the specifics of your project, we'll quote the project and materials you're requesting. Then, when you're ready to begin, we have you put down a deposit and the design process begins. We'll send you a mockup and wait for your feedback. We'll work through revisions and conclude with a final digital copy of your design. Once the final is approved, then we begin printing and producing your design (if applicable.) You'll be working with either a project manager or graphic designer throughout the entire process, so you'll always have someone to turn to..
Absolutely! The design process can easily be handled via email and phone conversations. We have many satisfied clients all over the country and don't find that distance limits what we can accomplish together.
This varies from project to project, however, typically Ekcetera retains copyright for all work, including skecthes and mockups. The exception to this is logo creation. We have built the transfer of rights into our logo design fee. For most other projects, we are happy to quote you a price including the transfer of rights. Just ask.
We pride ourselves in not only making websites look good, but also function well. The website design process typically begins with a meeting to discuss what you're looking for in a site, both graphically and functionality-wise. We then deliver a quote based on our conversation. If you decide to move forward, we have you put down a deposit to begin. We'll ask you all sorts of questions about your site. What do you want it to look like? How will it be used? What sort of cool features would you like to see? What level of search engine optimization is necessary? Do you plan on doing and web marketing? What sort of update capabilities do you need? etc... Then, we begin the graphic design phase. We create a framework for the layout and look of the site. It is important to be sure of the way things fit on the page during this phase. Once we move past the graphic design of the site, and start coding the framework, it can be very costly to change the way the page is laid out. Once the framework is complete, you will begin to see a functioning site. Then, we'll add and refine your content. Once the site meets your approval, it'll go live.
